These Are Our Favorite Salomon Sneakers to Shop Now
The gorpcore explosion has made us all look at technically-produced hiker gear a bit differently. Suddenly wearing a waterproof Arc'teryx jacket isn't only done by outdoorsy folk, but also by fashion-conscious TikTok users who show off the waterproof technology while standing in the shower.
The influence this has had on footwear has been that hiking and trail-running shoes are generating hype like Jordans always have, and Salomon is at the forefront of it all.
The French sportswear label has been in business since 1947, creating gear for mountain trails and alpine sports. It has always had a cult following for its super grippy and durable footwear amongst those with a love for the great outdoors — and now we're playing catch-up.
Salomon is making the most of the trail-running sneaker demand, coming through with a consistent collection of functional kicks in bold aesthetics. The beauty of its sneakers is that there are colorways and silhouettes for pretty much every style.
Although there is a wild number to choose from, we've rounded up our current highlights from across the French brand's silhouettes, from its coveted XT-Wings range to its various collaborations.
Scroll through our selection below and, at the very least, get inspired by Salomon’s expert color blocking.

Salomon Xt-6 Vanila Ice
There have been so many amazing Salomon XT-6 colorways over the years that we have a whole article trying to decipher which one is the best. For me, this "vanilla ice" version just stole the top spot.
Salomon XT-Quest 2 Advanced Sneakers
While the XT-4 and XT-6 have dominated headlines, don't make the mistake of not checking out the other models that the brand has on offer. The XT-Quest 2 takes elements from classic hiking footwear and puts them into a rugged, hard-wearing sneaker.
Salomon x RANRA Cross Pro
London and Reykjavík-based design studio RANRA has stripped back these Salomon sneakers and gone back to traditional shoemaking methods. The glues and adhesives have been ditched for stitching, technical fabrics switched for natural fibers, and each pair is hand-dyed to deliver distinctive variations in color and texture.
Salomon XT-6
This combination of off-white and caramel brown makes for a top-tier colorway — even by the XT-6's standards.
Salomon XT-4
The one annoying thing about white sneakers is that they can get scuffed with every step but Salomon's trail-ready materials don't stain easily, meaning you can wear these without having to worry about puddles and mud.
MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon Cross Low
As is to be expected with any MM6 Maison Margiela collaboration, these sneakers take an unconventional approach. These Cross Lows ditch the laces and create two big gorp-y bags for your feet.
Salomon XT-6
We've seen a bunch of understated, clean white colorways land this year, and they work perfectly with the XT-6. The rugged, utilitarian tooling of the sneaker contrasts with the almost ethereal palette of this version.
Salomon XA Alpine 2 Advanced
It only takes one look at this sneaker to know that it's made for high-performance situations. The shoe has been designed in collaboration with Salomon athletes to handle trail runs in surroundings that are unpredictable and oftentimes hostile.
Salomon XT-6 FT
If you’re not so interested in the range of technical details Salomon embeds in its sneakers, you can at least appreciate its spot-on colorways. The various shades of khaki on this pair are one of my favorites from the XT series.
Salomon XT-Quest 2 Advanced
The Y2K agenda has made its way to the world of hiking and created these early 2000s-inspired sneakers.
