Miami Heat shooting guard/small forward Jimmy Butler and Jordan Brand have mutually agreed to part ways, ESPN reports, a move that makes the four-time All-Star the most high-profile sneaker free agent in the NBA. Butler's deal with the athletic company was scheduled to expire later this year on September 30. Now, however, he is expected to sign with a different brand at some point during the current NBA season.

Upon being drafted by the Chicago Bulls with the final pick of the first round in 2011, Butler landed a deal with adidas. He decided to leave the brand just three seasons later, taking a 75 percent pay cut to join Jordan Brand. ESPN points out that the former Most Improved Player often wore player-exclusive colorways of Jordan's SuperFly, Supreme Elevation, and Diamond team models.

For now, it remains to be seen what company Butler will sign an expected multiyear endorsement deal with. One suitor could very well be Dwyane Wade's Li-Ning sub-brand, Way of Wade, who recently signed D'Angelo Russell. A Miami Heat legend, Wade reportedly provided Butler with some words of advice prior to Butler's recent signing with the Heat.
