What We’re Saying: sacai unveiled its upcoming Nike VaporWaffle collaboration at Paris Fashion Week. Following the November 13 release of the black/white and white/red/blue colorways as below, two new colorways are set to follow on December 17. These are the black/villain red and tour yellow/gorge green iterations featured above.

The sneaker was previously believed to be called the VaporPegasus, though sacai representatives confirmed to Highsnobiety that the collaboration will be officially known as the Vaporwaffle. Much like sacai’s previous Nike collaborations, the Vaporwaffle features a double-everything approach.

The Chitose Abe-helmed brand has turned things up a notch for FW20, though, as the outsole appears to be slightly skewed at the toe tip. A rather hefty midsole looks to split at the heel, giving the sneaker a deconstructed aesthetic as well.

What the Internet Is Saying: Opinion is not just split, it’s bipolar, as people on Instagram either love the shoe or absolutely hate it. One user, @kodiewitha_k, claims they would give up their firstborn child for a pair, while Kimson Trinh prefers the VaporWaffle to the Balenciaga Triple S. Overall though, it’s hard to see these not sell out upon release.
