Sean Wotherspoon, once one of Nike’s most popular collaborators, has confirmed he is working on a sneaker collaboration with none other than the Swoosh’s bitter rivals, adidas. Speculation mounted following a since-deleted Instagram post, in which the designer and Round Two co-founder posted his logo alongside that of the adidas Trefoil logo and drawings of flowers (see below).

Now Wotherspoon has confirmed to Complex that he is working with adidas on an unannounced model that features a sustainability angle and will likely include embroidery and floral print (similar to the deleted post above).

“It’s going to be a huge step forward in sustainability and a lot different than what you have seen from me in the past as far as materials. Can’t wait to start the roll out, this is going to be a fun one!” he told Complex. “I grew up playing soccer, it was actually my first love before skateboarding. Always wore Adidas, head to toe, I LOVE Sambas, used to buy them at Modell's and Sports Authority.”

Neither adidas nor Wotherspoon have let any concrete release details slip, though if the designer is openly talking about the collaboration, an official announcement could be coming soon.

Since leaving Nike to explore other options and broaden his design portfolio with other brands, Wotherspoon has been repeatedly seen wearing various adidas sneakers, including the adidas YEEZY Boost 700 V2.

As always, stay tuned for updates.
